Friends of the Pathway
As part of the completion of the Highway 93 South Trail, local partners are sharing the maintenance and stewardship of the trail. As of 2018, Youth Employment Program has an agreement in place with Lemhi County to complete routine maintenance on the Hwy 93 Trail. Salmon Valley Stewardship has coordinated a Friends of the Pathway program to rally local volunteers to help with trail stewardship, including litter removal and identifying maintenance needs. Friends get to “adopt” a 1/2 mile section of trail.
As a friend of the pathway, an individual, family, or organization commits to:
Volunteer to pick up litter, remove debris, and monitor the trail’s conditions throughout the year
Report maintenance issues or concerns to Youth Employment Program or partners
Help local partners and other volunteers keep the Highway 93 Trail safe, well-maintained, and beautiful for the community
Promote the pathway to the community and share about it on social media
Participate in long-term planning and vision for the pathway with partner organizations
